Covenants

In ecumenical understanding, a covenant is a step along the way towards the goal of full communion or full visible unity. Recognizing that the communion between the churches is real though incomplete, a covenant is a commitment to give life to the degrees of communion that already exist. Working within the current polity of each church, the covenanting partners agree to build a common life together to whatever extent possible. Among Anglicans and Roman Catholics there is considerable opportunity to give expression to our common faith through common mission and witness.
