This Ecumenical Study Guide on Ministry and Ordination is a companion resource to the Ecumenical Study Guide on the Eucharist published by the Graymoor Ecumenical Institute. Both were produced through the cooperation of the Ecumenical Commissions of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York and the Episcopal Diocese of New York. The Guide for Study portion of this pamphlet is by the Rev. John Osgood of the Episcopal Diocese of New York. Although the Agreed Statements emerged from the consultations of two sister churches (Roman Catholic/Anglican) it addresses basic questions essential to the understanding of ministry which applies to the life of all churches. The Study Guide follows closely the Agreed Statement. In addition we have provided a work sheet for those using this pamphlet, which contains questions on ministry from several inter-church discussions. Adequate understanding of the ordained ministry is inherently linked with a full appreciation of the ministry of all the faithful, and thus these discussions should be of help to clergy and laity alike.
