Manfred Hauke’s major treatise, Women in the Priesthood? A Systematic Analysis in Light of the Order of Creation and Redemption (Ignatius Press, 1988). Hauke, a conservative German theologian and dogmatician, argued against the ordination of women by invoking the &quot;order of creation,&quot; gender symbolism, and natural law. Soskice's piece challenged Hauke's arguments.
