ARCIC-II Press release (Venice, 1983)Anglican-Roman Catholic International Commission IIPRESS RELEASE An encouraging start was made at the first meeting of the new Anglican-Roman Catholic International Commission (ARCIC II) established by Pope John Paul II and the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Commission met in Venice from August 30 to September 6, 1983. Its membership is more wide-ranging than that of its predecessor (ARCIC I), and includes representatives from five continents and twelve nationalities. This made possible a useful exchange of information on the actual state of Anglican/Roman Catholic pastoral relations in many parts of the world.
