In 2017 an international organising group chaired by the Archbishop of Cape Town set a date (the last week in July 2020) and announced a theme (“God’s Church for God’s world”) for the conference. In March 2020, it was announced that, due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the 15th Lambeth Conference would be rescheduled to the British summer 2021. By July 2020, the plans for the conference had been rescheduled again, now for the British summer of 2022.
