The passage of Philippians quoted in common by the Pope and Archbishop at St Paul’s. They should concentrate on the present situation, on the opportunity and favourable conditions for dialogue which it offers 1, retrospective examination of the relationship between the Anglican Communion and the Roman Catholic Church, from Mortalium Animos (1928) to today 1-2, the instructio and Unitatis Redintegratio 3, Biblical renewal, the history of controversy,4, Divino Afflante Spirito, the meaning of inspiration and hermeneutics, the stirring history of the constitution on Divine Revelation during the days of Vatican II, 5, Liturgical Renewal, the Constitution on Liturgy and the Constitutio de Ecclesia, 6-7; social movement, 7, a re-examination of accepted ideas, 8, the context of the People of God and the decree of Ecumenism, 9, the Constitution on Divine Revelation which treats of Sacred Scripture in the life of the Church 9-10, the Constitution on the Church in the World of Today, the humility generated by the spiritual ecumenism will provide a proper frame of mind for the dialogue and for the study which is the absolute pre-requisite of dialogue 11, the pietas as one of the ingredients of the dialogue, 12 the pietas of the Archbishop of Canterbury.
