Hierarchical context:
The Australian Anglican-Roman Catholic Conversation was established by the General Synod in 1989 to consider: matters of particular concern affecting the relationship between the two Churches in Australia; and to promote an awareness of the issues considered by the Anglican-Roman Catholic International Commission (ARCIC). AUSTARC first met in 1993 and has continued to meet biannually to consider responses to ARCIC documents such as, The Gift of Authority , Life in Christ and Church as Communion.
Prayer for Reconciliation: An important step in this process has been the inauguration of a Day of Prayer for Anglican and Roman Catholic reconciliation on 4 November, All Saints Day. This day provides people in both traditions to pray for unity and to recognise the life of holiness that Roman Catholic and Anglican Christians share together. Parishes and other communities will find prayer texts and suggestions for simple shared worship below.
This page lists all documents added to the IARCCUM.org site in order by original publication date. In addition to the documents prepared for the dialogue commissions, there are a number of additional documents that are included because of their relevance to the dialogues.
News articles are not generally included in the dialogue collection. See the news index to access these materials.
