Bishop of Ripon (1959-75); from 1962 to 1965 Moorman was chief Anglican observer at the Second Vatican Council. This was followed in 1967 by the role of Anglican chairman of the preparatory commission leading to the establishment of the Anglican-Roman Catholic International Commission. He was a member of the Commission from its inception in 1969 until 1981.

Lambeth Palace Library has 21 files (MS 4674-4694). These papers reflect both Moorman’s activities as a scholar of Church history and his duties as a member of the Anglican Church. Includes papers regarding published and unpublished books and articles; texts of sermons and lectures; correspondence and cuttings regarding Moorman’s activities and visits.
