Rev. Dr. Charles Henry Sherlock (b. 1945) is a distinguished Australian Anglican theologian, educator, and ecumenist based in Melbourne. He earned his doctorate in theology and served as Registrar of the Melbourne College of Divinity (now University of Divinity). As Professor and Senior Lecturer, he taught at Ridley College and Trinity College and later became Executive Officer for both the Australian & New Zealand Association of Theological Schools and the Diocese of Bendigo’s Board of Ministry.

Sherlock is best known for his long-term involvement in ecumenical dialogue. He was appointed to the Anglican–Roman Catholic International Commission (ARCIC) in 1991 and served through ARCIC II until 2005, later acting as consultant to ARCIC III. He also held leadership roles in the Inter‑Anglican Standing Committee on Ecumenical Relations (2000–2003) and the Anglican Liturgical Commission, contributing to the creation of A Prayer Book for Australia.

A prolific author, Sherlock has written key works such as The Doctrine of Humanity, God on the Inside, and Performing the Gospel on Liturgy and Lifestyle. He was editor of the national Anglican newspaper Church Scene (1995–1997) and, in 2019, was honoured as a Member of the Order of Australia for his service to the Anglican Church and theological education.
