Rev. Dr. Christopher FitzSimons Allison (b. March 5, 1927) is an American Anglican theologian and retired bishop, best known for his contributions to classical Anglican orthodoxy. He earned a B.A. from the University of the South (1949), a B.Div. from Virginia Theological Seminary (1952), and a D.Phil. from Oxford University (Christ Church, 1956). Ordained deacon in 1952 and priest in 1953, he taught church history at Sewanee and Virginia Theological Seminary before serving as rector of Grace Episcopal Church in New York (1975–1980). Elected Coadjutor Bishop of South Carolina in 1980, he became diocesan bishop in 1982 and served until retiring in 1990. An influential author, his works include Fear, Love, & Worship (1962), The Rise of Moralism (1966), Guilt, Anger, and God (1972), and The Cruelty of Heresy (1994). In 2000, he took part in the Singapore consecrations that sparked the Anglican realignment, and in 2022 he was received into the Anglican Church in North America.
