This Joint Standing Committee was established at the Anglican Consultative Council in Hong Kong in 2002, when members of the Standing Committee of the Primates Meeting were incorporated into the Standing Committee of the ACC. After several years, the name of the committee was changed to the Standing Committee of the Anglican Communion.
