LONDON- England. It has just been announced by the Governors of the Anglican Centre in Rome that the Rt. Revd John Baycroft, currently the Anglican Bishop of Ottawa, Canada has been appointed as the next Director of the Anglican Centre in Rome.

Bishop Baycroft will succeed Canon Bruce and Mrs Vivien Ruddock who currently serve the Centre as Director and Administrator. The Ruddocks are planning to return to England later this year. The appointment of Bishop Baycroft is a continuing sign of the Anglican Communion’s commitment to pursue further its dialogue with the Roman Catholic Church and to maintain a strong presence in Rome in its new expanded facility. Bishop Baycroft is a member of the Anglican Roman Catholic International Commission (ARCIC) the body conducting official theological dialogue between the two ecclesial bodies. The Bishop is married to Joan and they have three children.
