Board for Mission and Unity (BMU)

The Board for Mission and Unity of the General Synod of the Church of England. Set up to continue and develop the work formerly undertaken by the Missionary and Ecumenical Council of the Church Assembly (MECCA). Existed until 31 March 1991.

When the General Synod and its BMU was established in 1970, the Church of England’s Council on Foreign Relations was re-constituted as the Counsellors for Foreign Relations (1972-19081) and then absorbed by Lambeth Palace.
