A report on the debate on the Agreed Statement on Authority at the General Synod of the Church of England in February 1977. Carefully outlines the points raised by various members of Synod, provides the full motion approved unanimously in all three houses of Synod, and gives a brief biographical note on some of the “dramatis personae”.
