Nicholas Lash

“Nicholas Langrishe Alleyne Lash (6 April 1934-11 July 2020) was an English Roman Catholic theologian. After serving in the British Army, and working for a short while as a Roman Catholic priest, he held for twenty years the post of Norris-Hulse Professor of Divinity in the University of Cambridge from 1978 to 1999. Lash was the author of numerous theological books and a regular contributor to The Tablet.”

From The Tablet (16 July 2020):

“He lectured widely in America and in India and penned a dozen substantial books as well as three hundred and seventy essays, articles and reviews. In recognition of his contribution to academic theology, a Papal Knighthood was conferred on him by Pope Francis in May 2017.”
