Informal Talks
1967-

The Informal Talks are an annual meeting between representatives of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity and the Anglican Communion under the joint chairmanship of the President of the PCPCU and the Secretary General of the Anglican Communion. The meetings take place in Rome at the Anglican Centre or the PCPCU offices. Participation in these talks generally includes the co-chairs and co-secretaries of the ARCIC and IARCCUM commissions.

The Informal Talks are deemed informal because these are not public events for which minutes and other records are maintained. The confidentiality of the Informal Talks preserves the ability of the two churches to engage at a level of trust and candour that would not be possible in a public forum. The Informal Talks have rarely issued any public statement.
